This week is a pretty special one, I am in Helsinki performing at an English Comedy evening here along with my buddy Joe Eagan and my new BFFs Phil Schwarzmann, Ida Grönlund and Henric Chezek. Its a huge night ot comedy here and Ill be doing a 20 minute set along with a really funny video we made on the streets of Helsinki this evening. We went around and spoke to some shop owners and tried to hand out flyers but it ended up as me getting rejected by every woman I tried to talk to.
I am really happy to be in Helsinki this week because it is almost 4 years to the day that I first arrived in Europe. After a brief stop over in England I was sent to this far off icy land of fins where I didnt see the sun for the entire week and I thought this was craziness and swore Id never live in such a place… Its nice to be back here 4 years later and be doing something completly different, entertaining folks with comedy about cultural differences instead of errr… entertaining folks with comedy about computer programming. IT trainer to stand up comedian, the link isn’t as far off as you would expect.
There I am, 4 years ago getting amongst it in Helsinki, Finland
I am also taking a brief detour to Estonia to see everyone there too, keen for a few of Albert Le. Coqs finest while I am there.
I love how some things can be so easy here. About 5 minutes after getting off the ferry I got the "no data shakes" where by I realise I have no local phone number and no internet access. No worries, a prepaid sim card and 7€ later and Ive got unlimited data on my phone for the week. This is the land that invented Nokia, come on!
Tomorrow night! All English Comedy In Helsinki. We are taking over one city at a time!
